Ukraine Event on Saturday 10 September at Beechwood Court postponed
In due respect to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II we have postponed the event. We give thanks to Almighty God for her life and pray for her family in their bereavement.
God save the King.
17th September: Event for Ukrainians at No 20 Station Road, Colwyn Bay
How can we best support refugee children in school?
With over 50,000 Ukrainian children, some 12,000 Afghan children and many other new arrivals in the UK from places of conflict, our schools are dealing with children facing more trauma, stress, loss, grief, and anxiety than ever before.
How can teachers, parents and other professionals work together to provide support?
How can we spot the early signs of trauma and distress?
And how can we get children the help they need to thrive in the classroom and beyond?
Other questions, comments and ideas you have will be fielded via the chat function. We hope to get cover as many as possible during the event.
Speakers include:
Dr David Tricky - Consultant Clinical Psychologist at the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families
Dame Rachel Da Souza - Children's Commissioner
Margaret Mullholand - Inclusion Policy Specialist at the Association of School & College Leaders (ASCL).
The session will be recorded and sent to all who register.

Reducing barriers to employment for Ukrainians in Wales
There is much more information on our Local Information webpage which offers support for funding both for those looking to employ Ukrainians and those seeking work. There is also information on how do address the issue of a DBS if required for work.
Keep an eye on our pages too for information on training courses for both those seeking to employ Ukrainians and those seeking work - this will be provided via the North Wales Tourism and Hospitality Academy.
