How can we best support refugee children in school?

With over 50,000 Ukrainian children, some 12,000 Afghan children and many other new arrivals in the UK from places of conflict, our schools are dealing with children facing more trauma, stress, loss, grief, and anxiety than ever before.

  • How can teachers, parents and other professionals work together to provide support?

  • How can we spot the early signs of trauma and distress?

  • And how can we get children the help they need to thrive in the classroom and beyond?

Other questions, comments and ideas you have will be fielded via the chat function. We hope to get cover as many as possible during the event.

Speakers include:

Dr David Tricky - Consultant Clinical Psychologist at the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families

Dame Rachel Da Souza - Children's Commissioner

Margaret Mullholand - Inclusion Policy Specialist at the Association of School & College Leaders (ASCL).

The session will be recorded and sent to all who register.
