Some of the Questions and Comments submitted by participants included:

  • If Welcome Centers only accept adults what's happening when an adult with children applies to come to the UK through the Welsh government super sponsorship scheme?

The North wales Welcome Centre is adults only, others across Wales are for families

  • What is in place to deal with possible vicarious traumatisation of interpreters?

A Trauma Awareness Training Programme is being prepared and offered to those who are likely to be face-face contacts.

  • Can I suggest working with WCVA or local county voluntary councils around volunteers and safeguarding policies?

WCVA asked that this Webinar be offered with a view to including all local CVC’s - all were invited and the intention is to fully harness all their expertise and resources.

  • Do any of the families coming in have pets and if so how is this handled? As in quarantine etc?

Yes, the guidelines are here

  • Victim Support can also offer emotional support to anyone that has been a victim of crime, we also have a dedicated modern slavery caseworker, would really like to meet up to discuss the hubs and how we can support.

  • Refugee kindness - North Wales and can be found here Facebook Page | Facebook Group

We can help refugees and asylum seekers with household items and debriefing.

  • FLVC Flintshire CVC is involved in delivering the ICan training and local conversations.

  • I think a refugee support flowchart showing entry points to support and the local ideal client journey would be beneficial - so all of our organisations are signing off this same hymn sheet and know what to do when, so to speak.

Work in progress!

  • I am member of Soroptimists on Anglesey. Is anyone else working to offer support on the island. We have a small group of people in Holy Island area who are trying to offer a support hub once guests arrive.
